Successor to the Koenigsegg Agera RS, the all-new Jesko is a street-legal hypercar that packs a 5.0 liter twin-turbo V8 engine generating 1280hp on standard gasoline and 1600hp on E85 biofuel, mated to a 9-speed Koenigsegg Light Speed Transmission (LST), which enables it to hit a top speed of 300mph. Unlike standard dual clutch transmissions, the LST allows the driver to change to the optimal gear for acceleration, regardless of that gear’s relationship to the current gear, making the system the “Ultimate Power on Demand,” according to the automaker. Like all Koenigseggs, the Jesko features a carbon fibre monocoque chassis that is 40mm longer and 22mm taller than its predecessor, allowing for more headroom and legroom, while retaining structural rigidity (65,000 Nm per degree). This strong chassis allows Koenigsegg’s engineers to concentrate on tuning the suspension for performance rather than compensating for sub-optimal chassis dynamics.
You can’t have all that power without an aerodynamics package that provides over 1000kg of downforce, and an additional Triplex damper has been incorporated into the front suspension to maintain an optimal ride height during high aerodynamic load without compromising grip at lower speeds to boot. That’s right, both the front and the rear triplex dampers now incorporate active bump and rebound damping.
Inside, you’ll find a TFT touchscreen, USB inputs, inductive phone charging, Bluetooth connectivity, automated climate control, leather or alcantara trim with contrast stitching, ‘bird’s eye view’ parking assistance, digital warning system, electric adjustment of mirrors / seats / windows, adjustable pedals / steering, parking sensors and automated protection for Autoskin doors.
