Created by industrial designer Alan Wong, Kranio X is a handcrafted Bluetooth speaker unlike any other, starting with the lynx skull-shaped casing that contrasts a feral, organic feature with the cold, synthetic mechanical parts. Fortunately, not animals were harmed in the making of this device, as all of it has been 3D-printed. Offering 10-watts of power and weighing in at 4.4 pounds, it measures 240 x 160 x 153 cm. After the casing is printed, they are intricately hand-painted to give it a decayed look. Each speaker will come with an authenticity certificate, along with its unique serial number. Backers are going to receive the coveted serial numbers from 001 to 020, while those opting for the standard version get serial numbers starting after the Kranio X. More information here.
Alan grew up with series such as Blade Runner, Ghost in the Shell, and games like Cyberpunk & Shadowrun. He drew inspiration from these cyberpunk influences to create a collectible speaker as his personal project,” according to the Kickstarter page.
