LEGO Game Boy Set 72046
The original Game Boy, the chunky gray handheld that changed portable gaming in 1989, has been reborn as a beautifully crafted LEGO set. This 421 piece tribute to a cultural icon is $59.99 and hits LEGO stores, LEGO.com and select retailers on October 1, 2025 with pre-orders live now in some regions.

The Game Pak slot is a hallmark of the original and is playfully functional. The set includes two brick built Game Paks – one for Link’s Awakening and one for Super Mario Land – that slot into the back of the model recreating the nostalgic ritual of swapping cartridges. The interchangeable screens add an extra layer of interactivity so you can revisit game moments without a console. While it doesn’t have lights or sounds the set delivers pure brick building joy.

LEGO Game Boy Set 72046
Targeted at builders 18+ this set fits into the adult focused lineup. With 421 pieces it’s a manageable build taking a few hours with clear beginner friendly instructions. Building it is as much about reliving memories as it is about creating a physical object. Every component from the textured buttons to the sculpted dials honours the Game Boy’s utilitarian design and creates a model that will spark conversations about late night gaming and exploring Hyrule on a tiny screen.
