We have seen the future of foldable OLED display technology, and it includes this new panel by LG that can fold 360-degrees. It was teased at the Display Week press event last week in San Jose, California and can not only fold inwards, but also outwards, making the panel ideal for smartphones, tablets or gaming devices.
Yes, there are other flexible OLED displays that can fold inwards and outwards, but LG’s solution can do so along the same center crease. Practical uses include folding just half of the display inwards and use the other for multitasking, gaming, etc. Or, two people can use the device simultaneously if necessary in tablet form. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on when we’ll see this display used in an actual product. However, someone has already come up with an foldable iPhone Pro concept.
