Many have traveled to France and visited the Eiffel Tower in Paris, but for those who have always wondered just what was at the very top, it’s a small apartment reserved for Gustave Eiffel to entertain guests. This is now visible to the public, complete with period decorations and lifelike models of Gustave and some guests. Eiffel received a number of very generous offers to rent out the space, but he declined them all, preferring to use the space for quiet reflection, and to entertain prestigious guests such as Thomas Edison.
