The BYD Shark is set to have some competition in Europe from SAIC’s Maxus eTerron 9 electric pickup truck. Power comes from a dual motor setup connected to a 102 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery that makes 436 hp, enabling it to hit 62 mph in a respectable 5.8 seconds.
On a full charge, you can expect up to 267 miles of WLTP range, and a 115 kW DC fast charger will take the battery from 20% to 80% charge in just 40 minutes. Other features include a 7,716 lbs towing capacity, a maximum payload of 1,367 lbs, and a 236-litre frunk. There’s no word yet on pricing, but the 18-foot electric pickup truck is set to launch in Europe during Q4.
