The Mazda MX-5 Miata is essentially a lightweight two-passenger roadster with a front mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. The gem you see above was converted into a makeshift pickup truck of sorts and posted on Craigslist a while back with the title “1990 Miata with 22,000 miles on the clock.” It was listed for $6,000 or best offer, and apparently was purchased, but not maintained, so it fell into disrepair.
Transforming this Miata into something entirely different required the owner of this car to stretch its wheelbase and then add a truck bed, all the while leaving the fabric roof intact. Unfortunately, its zippy handling characteristics are most likely no longer track-ready, while the 0-60 time was surely influenced too, and not in a good way.
