Former Microsoft executive Brad Silverberg was gifted the first-ever copy of Windows 95 and recently posted a few images of the item on social media. This piece of history was produced during a Friday afternoon at 5:15 pm on July 14, 1995.

Windows 95 built upon its predecessor and introduced numerous functions that were featured in later versions of the operating system, including the taskbar, notification area, as well as the “Start” button. It is arguably one of the most significant and important products in the personal computing industry. Microsoft ended mainstream support for Windows 95 on December 31, 2000, a littler over 2-years after the release of Windows 98.
