Ken Block’s all-electric Audi S1 Hoonitron was built exclusively for Elektrikhana, which is sure to be a stunt-filled video. Technical details are sparse, but we do know that it’s powered by two electric motors and has an all-wheel drive configuration. All of this power is packaged into a carbon fiber chassis, while keeping the full safety standards as prescribed by motorsport’s top governing body, the FIA.
The Hoonitron draws inspiration from the legendary Audi Sport quattro S1 and its development took place at the automaker’s Neckarsulm location, the same place where the Audi RS e-tron GT is produced. Engineers worked tirelessly to create a modern, all-electric interpretation of the S1 Pikes Peak.

- Authentic details of the NES console are recreated in LEGO style, including a controller and an opening slot for the buildable Game Pak
- The TV has a handle-operated scrolling screen, Mario figure reacts to the on-screen enemies, obstacles and power-ups when placed on the top
The S1 Hoonitron combines a lot of what Audi was already famous for in the nineteen-eighties. For instance, the car’s spectacular aerodynamics have now been translated into a totally modern form. I think it’s cool that the Audi designers have been inspired by their own past and uniquely transferred the car’s technologies and appearance into the present,” said Ken Block.
