Remember the Game Gear? If not, it is SEGA’s iconic 8-bit fourth generation handheld game console that debuted on October 6, 1990 in Japan. It shares much of its hardware with the Master System, so much so that its games could be played with a special adapter. Designer Joseph Dumary from France felt that it was time for an update.

The console features two fingerprint sensors in the joysticks and a “Gear to TV” function that allows you to play Game Gear Phase 2 titles in 4K directly on your TV. Unlike its predecessor, the L and R buttons can be used as electronic triggers, while the other buttons light up in the dark.
