Electronic Arts first released Need for Speed Most Wanted back in 2005, so it is long due for a remake, or at least TeaserPlay thinks so. There’s no better tool for a fan remake than Unreal Engine 5,and that is exactly what was used here in this gameplay showcase, making full use of the game engine’s Lumen, Nanite, Global Illustration, Screen Space as well as Quixel tools.
If you’ve never played Need for Speed Most Wanted, players basically take part in illegal street races using a variety of licensed real-world cars that can be upgraded and customized with new parts while trying to avoid the police. The racing events include from point-to-point, checkpoint, sprint and drag races. There’s already an Unreal Engine 4-powered Need for Speed Underground 2 remake that is also reportedly in the works.
