Nintendo Game Boy CRT Screen Mod
If Nintendo made a Game Boy with a CRT screen, here’s how the games might have looked, although the aesthetics could use some work. The CRT was sourced from Aliexpress, but rather than 3D print an enclosure, several Game Boy shells were used.

Since the CRT is actually intended for use in video intercom systems, it runs on 12V and accepts a standard composite video signal. However, the Game Boy is not compatible with either, so a boost converter was required for the power issue, while the video solution needed an LCD replacement controller.

Most channels would 3D print a custom enclosure for their project, especially when working with something as potentially dangerous as a CRT. You chopped up several Game Boy shells and hot glued them together haphazardly. Needless to say, you’ve absolutely earned my respect,” said one commenter.
