An extremely rare Nintendo Super Famicom prototype console with a headphone jack could fetch over $1,000 USD at auction. This was most likely used by developers in 1989 before the Super Famicom / SNES hit stores a year later.

Other differences you may notice are a red power switch instead of the normal gray one, and the controller ports on the left side rather than centered. An expansion port can also be seen on the front, rather than the bottom where it’s found on the production model. There are three known Super Famicom prototypes, each with their own little quirks, such as a slimmer case and right-sided controller ports. Check it out here.
