A modder who goes by ‘Set’ came up with the TVii Switch Re-Shell Mod, which adds an 80mm fan, making it perfect for overclocked Switch consoles.
Just how much cooler does the Switch OLED run in a new dedicated case with a fan? Well, a considerable 2-8°C cooler than a factory console, as the fan prevents the Switch’s motherboard from overheating when under load. Assembling everything isn’t as trick as you may think, especially since the modder is offering Cooling Re-shell (PLA) for $40 USD on Etsy. Before considering the project, just know that any DIY repairs or mods will void Nintendo’s warranty.
