A Nintendo fan spent countless hours creating a custom The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time track for Mario Kart 8, and unfortunately, it’s not yet available for download. However, you can still create your own Mario Kart 8 tracks using a piece of software called ‘Track-Studio’, which still does require some graphic design skills, especially with a 3D program like Blender, 3DS Max, or Maya.
Still interested in making your own Mario Kart 8 tracks? Well, if you’ve got the 3D program down, then the next step would be image software for making / editing textures before attempting to create anything in Track-Studio. When preparing the track, you could take a portion of an existing circuit, or just make one from scratch. The only requirement is that you scale it to mach a Mario Kart 8 course before importing it into the game. More information here.
