The original Opel Manta, a rear-wheel-drive sports coupé, spanned two generations from 1970 to 1988, and based on the Ascona family car. Opel’s all-new Manta GSe ElektroMOD combines its predecessor’s classic looks with state-of-the-art technology for sustainable motoring. To do so, the automaker replaced the 1.6L CIH engine with an electric motor generating 147 hp and 188 lb-ft of, mated to a four-speed gearbox that can be engaged in fourth gear and then driving automatically. Aesthetically, the Manta GSe features the new Opel face with a Pixel-Vizor stretched across the entire width of the vehicle. This enables it to communicate with its environment across the entire surface of the LED screen, while the same technology is also used in the integrated daytime running lamps, the main headlamps and the striking three-dimensional taillights. The interior now sports an Opel Pure Panel, which consists of two integrated, driver-oriented, 12 and 10-inch widescreens, while music is blasted through a Bluetooth box from the legendary amplifier brand Marshall.
