1991 Mazda Suitcase Car
It’s true, Mazda actually made a ‘suitcase car’ in 1991. This is essentially a fully-functional car built into a piece of luggage and designed specifically for the company’s ‘Fantasyard’ event, an inter-departmental contest to see which group of employees could come up with the most innovative and creative solution to producing a ‘moving machine’. During the early 1990s, Mazda had already successfully reinvented the roadster with the MX-5 Miata and won Le Mans with the rotary-powered 787B racer, so it was the perfect time to build a car into a suitcase. NASA Hubble Caldwell 78
Photo credit: NASA, ESA, and G. Piotto
NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope turned 30 this year, and they just released a batch of new images to celebrate. Best of all, every single one of them can be seen through backyard telescopes, some can also be spotted with binoculars or even the naked eye. Above, we have Caldwell 78 (or NGC 6541), a globular star cluster located about 22,000 light-years from Earth. It’s bright enough that backyard stargazers in the Southern Hemisphere can easily spot it with binoculars.

It was essentially used to promote the television series from 1983 to 1987 and was one of the most popular attractions while touring the auto shows. This vehicle is based on the 1979 Chevrolet G-Series and comes equipped with a brush bar as well as red wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich tires. Read more for additional pictures and information.

iPhone 6S Drop Plane
Despite dropping his iPhone 6S from a plane flying 2,000-feet in the air, Brazilian documentary filmmaker Ernesto Galiotto managed to recover the device and its entire fall. Galiotto recently uploaded a video where he could be seen flying over a beach in Brazil in the passenger seat of a small plane. He captured photos using his larger DSLR camera for a while, before switching to his iPhone. Unfortunately, sticking the device out the window with just one hand wasn’t the best idea. SuperRT Real-Time Ray Tracing SNES
Ray tracing is basically a technology that makes light in video games act like it does in real-life, and with this technique, developers can make virtual rays of light appear to bounce off objects, cast realistic shadows, as well as create photorealistic reflections. This may be no issue for modern game consoles, like the PS5 and Xbox Series X, but the Super Nintendo Entertainment System is probably the last device you’d expect to handle ray tracing. However, there is a workaround, thanks to a clever developer. Read more for an in-depth look at the SuperRT cartridge.

Hot Wheels Cybertruck Matchstick Tesla
When you strike a matchstick against a surface, the friction generates heat, converting a small amount of red phosphorus to white phosphorus vapor. White phosphorus spontaneously ignites, decomposing potassium chlorate and liberating oxygen, but what happens when you use these to power a cardboard Tesla Cybertruck? One person decided to find out, and first built Elon Musk’s bulletproof creation out of cardboard before gathering 20,000 matches for propulsion.

Nuclear Weapon Nuke Moon
Ever wonder what would happen if you nuked the Moon? So did science expert Kurzgesagt, and that’s why his latest video is all about this topic. He covers a scenario where a thermonuclear device is detonated on the surface of the moon, and what the potential hazards could be for astronaut observers, orbiting satellites, space stations, as well as people living here on Earth. Project A119, a top-secret plan developed in 1958 by the United States Air Force, aimed to detonate a nuclear bomb on the Moon.
