It may not look like an exact replica, but this 1973 A-Team Van was one of six (6) officially licensed by Universal Studios to Hollywood Productions, Inc. for exhibition and promotional tours throughout the U.S. and Canada back in 1983. It was essentially used to promote the television series from 1983 to 1987 and was one of the most popular attractions while touring the auto shows. This vehicle is based on the 1979 Chevrolet G-Series and comes equipped with a brush bar as well as red wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich tires. Read more for additional pictures and information.
The vehicle you see in the actual A-Team TV series is based on the 1983 GMC Vandura van equipped with the characteristic red stripe, red turbine mag wheels, and rooftop spoiler. Yes, there’s also a customized 1994 Chevrolet G20 used in the A-Team movie. If you looked closely a number of devices were seen in the back of the van in different episodes, such as a mini printing press (“Pros and Cons”), an audio surveillance recording device (“A Small and Deadly War”), and a gun storage locker.
