The PLAEX Brick & Build system looks and functions like life-sized LEGO pieces. Each brick consists of a strong composite fabricated from a material that consists of 90% recycled plastic. Once the latter is shredded and cleaned, it gets put through an extruder to produce a cement-style paste.
After the colorants, UV and flame inhibitors are added to the final product, the brick ends up weighing 35% lighter than its traditional counterpart. Even more impressive is the fact that they click together securely, all without mortar. A double-story building using the PLAEX Brick & Build system would take just 11-12 days to complete with minimal equipment.
