Portal 64, a Portal demake for the N64 by James Lambert, can now be downloaded. Called Portal 64: First Slice, you still control Chell from a first-person perspective as she navigates through a series of test chambers using the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device, or portal gun.
This demake features the first 13 test chambers from in the original game, and it can run on actual N64 hardware to boot. One thing to note is that you’ll need the PC version of Portal, and to play this demake, the file must be run through a ROM patcher. For those who aren’t ROM savvy, there’s always the option of buying the original game on Steam for a cool $.99 during their winter sale.
