Rare’s Jet Force Gemini, originally released for the N64 (1999), arrives on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack in December. This third-person shooter follows three members of a galactic law enforcement team as they try to stop a horde of drones led by an insectoid called Mizar.
The single-player mode has players exploring a galaxy to save Tribals, a race of survivors who have been enslaved and imprisoned by Mizar. They’ll have to shoot large numbers of enemies while dodging their attacks, while the multiplayer mode lets 2-4 players compete in traditional deathmatch-style games. Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers will be able to enjoy both Jet Force Gemini and GoldenEye 007 on December 1st (or November 30 in Japan).

Those who remember playing this title in 1999 are probably familiar with its 80s video arcade-inspired gameplay, combined with mechanics from modern N64 titles like Super Metroid and Super Mario 64. This isn’t the first time that the game has been re-released, as in 2015, Jet Force Gemini also made its way to the Rare Replay video game compilation for Xbox One.
