There’s a virtual reality racing league, and then OPEN, a third-person battle royale experience from Ernest Cline’s The Readyverse. This title is claimed to be the first AAA quality ‘metaverse experience interoperable with AAA IP that leverages web3 technology’.
As players enter OPEN’s immersive multiverse, they’ll discover nostalgia-infused biomes featuring characters and cultural legends across iconic franchises, including the DeLorean. They’ll then embark on game-show styled, multi-round collaborative and competitive game modes, but only one hero can emerge victorious. It’s currently in development for PC and other next-generation platforms, but there’s no word yet on a release date.
