This amphibious four-wheel drive is definitely one cool-looking off road machine. It’s based on a 1943 Volkswagen Schwimmwagen that has been completely restored. Featuring all of the authentic props from the 1940s including rifles, shovel, side mounted oar, and even has a machine gun mounted to the hood. Powering this retro-styled beast is a fully rebuilt 25 horsepower engine.

4. Sportsmobile Ultimate Adventure Vehicle

For those who want a fail-safe way to explore the great outdoors, look no further than the Sportsmobile Ultimate Adventure. Available in several different models, buyers are able to completely customize their vehicle from the bottom up. Or, you could just purchase an already built machine like the rugged Ford E-350 as seen above. This particular configuration has been outfitted with everything you need to survive in the wild, or even deep in the jungle, thanks to its innovative four wheel drive system and safety features.

3. 1945 Willys Jeep Rat Rod

The originals Willys Jeep was built in the early 1940s. Mechanic Randy Ellis and his team built awesome off-road vehicle from the ground up, complete with an air bag suspension, which allows for 7-inches of travel, a full radio, vintage Stewart Warner gauges in the center dash, and a fold out windshield. It’s powered by a 1977 Chevy 350 V8 engine, mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission.

2. Ducati 1199 MotoCorsa

The base Ducati 1199 is already a marvel itself, but what happens when you equip one of these superbikes with all the modifications needed to tackle the great outdoors? The Ducati 1199 MotoCorsa edition of course. It’s built specifically for the wilderness, and was fitted with knobby tires for the rough terrain, modified disc brakes, increased ground clearance, and a skid plate to protect some of the engine components from rocks and debris.

1. Mercedes-Benz B63S-700 6×6

If AMG’s original 6×6 offering wasn’t luxurious enough for you, the Mercedes-Benz B63S-700 6×6 will surely do. Upgraded turbochargers on the 5.5L V8 boost the engine to a whopping 700 horsepower and 708 lb-ft of torque. Weighing in at just under 4 tons, it still manages to sprint to 62 mph in a reasonable 7.4-seconds, partially due to the rugged off road tires that limit the vehicle’s top speed to 99 mph. Inside, there’s a fiery red Mastik leather/Alcantara combination that adds some nice contrast to the mix.
