Both the Porsche Macan EV and Tesla Model Y are set to compete with the all-new Rivian R2 in 2026. Priced from $45,000 USD, this midsize crossover SUV will be offered in two battery sizes, with the larger of the packs boasting a 310-mile range and 0-60 acceleration of under 3-seconds.
Buyers can choose from Single-Motor (RWD), Dual-Motor (AWD), and Tri-Motor (two motors in rear and one in front) configurations, all of which utilize an all-new 4695 cell that offers significant improvements in energy density as well as output. DC fast charging, compatible with both NACS (native) and CCS (with adapter), can recharge the R2 from 10% to 80% in less than 30 minutes.
