RYSE Recon Personal eVTOL First Manned Flight
The RYSE Recon personal all-electric ultralight vertical takeoff and landing vehicle successfully completed its first manned flight, which included a seamless takeoff, controlled hover, forward flight, pivot turn maneuvers, and a smooth landing. Key features include up to a 25-mile range on a single charge and a top speed of 63 mph.

Recon will also be able to operate on both land and water, all the while having low-cost maintenance to keep it somewhat affordable. Power comes from six independent propulsion systems with independent, removable and rechargeable batteries. The production model is expected to be priced from $150,000 USD and customer deliveries are set to begin in Q2 2023. For those in the market for a personal eVTOL, it will be a tossup between the RYSE Recon and Jetson One.

RYSE Recon Personal eVTOL First Manned Flight

This is an amazing accomplishment for our entire team at RYSE Aero Tech. It was effortless and very enjoyable to fly. I was thrilled at how I could literally hover, take my hands off the controls and the RECON sat there stable and safe,” said Erik Stephansen, RYSE Aero Technologies’ Director of Regulatory Affairs and Aeronautics.
