Durability is a solid 1,200 TBW for the 2TB version, and the warranty is valid for five years. This means that most users can put in years and years of intense use before reaching their limit. It also includes hardware-level AES 256-bit encryption and support for TCG Opal and similar standards, providing an extra degree of security for anyone storing critical files or personal data. Finally, the Samsung Magician program completes the process. This free software manages firmware updates, drive health checks, performance tweaking, and secure erase features. It is one of the cleaner OEM tools available, which eliminates the need to go out and get a third-party utility for simple maintenance.
