Set to launch on May 13, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will reportedly start at CAD $1,678.99 (~USD $1,200) for the 256GB model, with the 512GB variant at CAD $1,858.99 (~USD $1,340), or at least according to the Samsung Canada website. No matter what, it’s looking like a strong device, but its super-slim design means it gives up a few things compared to the top-of-the-line S25 Ultra.
It’s likely to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, the same fast chip used in the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. This is a boosted version of the regular Snapdragon 8 Elite, hitting a top speed of 4.47 GHz (compared to 4.32 GHz for the standard one). But because of its extra-thin 5.84mm shape, the S25 Edge has a slimmer vapor chamber than the regular S25, which might cause heat issues when it’s under heavy load.

The S25 Edge should come with 12GB of RAM as standard, matching the S25 and S25+ but falling short of the S25 Ultra’s optional 16GB in some markets. As for storage, options include 256GB and 512GB, with no mention of a 128GB variant in recent leaks.

This handset is rumored to have a 3,900mAh battery (rated at 3,786mAh in regulatory filings), smaller than the S25 (4,000mAh), S25+ (4,900mAh), and S25 Ultra (5,000mAh). Some leaks suggest a 4,000mAh battery, but the consensus leans toward 3,900mAh. The smaller battery, combined with the power-hungry Snapdragon 8 Elite and a 6.6-6.7-inch QHD+ 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED display, could strain endurance, especially for power users.

The phone features a dual-camera system, a first for a recent Samsung flagship, with a 200MP main sensor (ISOCELL HP2, same as the S25 Ultra) and a 12MP ultrawide. Unlike the S25+ and Ultra, it lacks a dedicated telephoto lens, relying on 2x digital zoom crops from the 200MP sensor. The 10MP or 12MP selfie camera supports 4K video at 60fps.

Our take? The Galaxy S25 Edge is a powerhouse, driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite and 12GB RAM, matching the S25 Ultra in CPU and AI performance. Its sleek design and premium materials (titanium, ceramic) make it a standout, but the smaller battery, slower charging, and dual-camera setup are notable trade-offs for its thin profile. It’s ideal for users who want flagship performance in a lightweight, stylish package, but power users may prefer the S25 Ultra for its superior battery life and camera versatility.
