Not just any motorcycle, the Segway Apex is essentially a super scooter that can achieve a maximum speed of 125 mph and accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, making it the fastest product developed by Segway-Ninebot ever. No other details have been released since CES 2020, but there are rumors that it’s based on the Yamaha R6’s lightweight motorcycle chassis.
In this video, the Segway APEX boasts a large diameter motor mounted mid-frame and appears to not have a left clutch lever or shifter, meaning that it’s likely a direct drive single speed transmission electric motorcycle. The rear brake keeps the classic foot lever like standard gas motorcycles, while the bike seemingly uses belt drive since there’s no chain noise.
