Segway S-Pod Self-Balancing Wheelchair
The Segway S-Pod looks like a cross between the Wall-E hoverchair and Professor X’s wheelchair. It’s officially described as a first-class smart transporting pod for enclosed campuses such as airports, theme parks and malls. This self-balancing electric vehicle features an adaptive center-of-gravity automatic control system and electric motors capable of hitting a top speed of 24.8 mph.

The self-balancing technology makes it easy to drive thanks to a feature that automatically keeps it level while it’s moving, and this prototype can currently travel around 43.5 miles on a full charge. To control the S-Pod, you use a small joystick on the right side of the seat, while a two-wheel setup enables quick changes in direction even while stopped.
