Internet users in the US and UK can now sign up to try the Google Bard AI chatbot starting today. This tool can be used to boost productivity, accelerate idiots or just fuel your curiosity, including explaining quantum physics in simple terms or even making a list of 20 books you should read this year.
Bard is essentially a lightweight and optimized version LaMDA (Language Model for Dialogue Applications), or a prediction engine that when given a prompt, can generate a response by selecting, one word at a time, from words that are likely to come next.
