Sleevenote Music Player
Standalone music players are slowly vanishing due to smartphones and tablets, but Sleevenote aims to bring hi-definition, full fidelity album artwork to digital music. It enables the listener to fully appreciate and engage with an album’s sleeve and visuals. The artwork is presented using the entire display, creating focused experience for the albums you love. A retina-standard touchscreen brings the colors to life, while dedicated playback buttons up top keep the display uncluttered.

The player itself is injection molded for maximum durability and it’s nearly the size of 7-inch record. It supports music from all the major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, and more. Featuring a 7.5-inch 1:1 retina touchscreen, Cirrus HQ Digital Audio Converter (DAC), a Wolfson ‘Class-W’ headphone amplifier, 250GB of internal storage, WiFi, Bluetooth, USB-C, a 3.55mm analog audio out, and all-day battery life. Over the last few years I’ve been working as a designer and met a software developer. That’s what led to the Sleevenote project. The excitement of that coming together is what spurred me into getting the record finished. I was excited about it being so unusual for a musician, as my interests have grown into design and product design, because I need that extra excitement. When I was a teenager, releasing an album was the most exciting thing,” said Tom Vek, Sleevenote Creator.
