Tito of Macho Nacho Productions gives us a hands-on look at what could quite possibly be the world’s smallest Game Boy Color, a handheld that is no wider than a cartridge itself. It was designed by Froggo Customs and called the Tad Boy Color, complete with all of the original Game Boy Color hardware.
Featuring a custom motherboard, which essentially compresses the Game Boy Color hardware into a board just a fraction of the size, a 2.45″ IPS LCD screen kit, a 3D-printed shell, a Game Boy Advance SP cartridge connector, a 3D-printed cartridge shield, and a single Joy-Con battery. Now putting everything together isn’t just a plug-and-play job, as lots of soldering and trimming is required.

I wonder if Froggo Customs would make a V.2.0 of the TadBoy Color to include analogue audio via the USB-C port, then you could use one of those USB-C to 3.5mm adapters to use headphones, kinda like how the GBA SP had those headphone adapters that plugged into the charging port,” said one commenter.
