Sony employees, like Aaron Espinoza of Insomniac Games, received a special edition PlayStation 5 DualSense controller to cap off 2022. This ‘Play Has No Limits’ controller is adorned with the iconic triangle, x-cross, circle, and square symbols. It may have also come with a custom 2022 controller stand, while the back features the ‘Play Has No Limits 2022’ logo printed on.
The standard DualSense controller sports a unique microtexture that consissts of 40,000 tiny symbols (square, triangle, circle, cross) stacked atop each other. Several designs were hand-drawn, digitized, and made as prototypes before the current one was chosen, with larger symbols that measure half a millimeter wide. Unfortunately, the employee-only special edition is not available for purchase outside of third party auction sites and resellers.
