SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket Launch JCSAT-18
SpaceX is currently minutes away as of the time of this post from its Falcon 9 rocket for the launch of JCSAT-18/Kacific-1. This launch, the 77th for the Falcon 9, will see the commercial communications satellite lofted to a geostationary transfer orbit (GTO). The JCSAT 18/Kacific 1 communications satellite is shared between Singapore startup Kacific Broadband Satellites, which is marking its first launch, and Japanese operator Sky Perfect JSAT. This satellite will operate in the Ka-band frequency spectrum, offering internet services in up to 25 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including rural areas.
