Finally, SpaceX’s Starship has been fully stacked at Starbase in Boca Chica, Texas and is ready for a launch rehearsal next week. If the rehearsal is a success, the team will aim for an integrated flight test the following week pending regulatory approval.
SpaceX’s Starship launch vehicle consists of the first-stage booster and the Starship second stage. The latter functions as a self-contained spacecraft for carrying crew or cargo once in orbit, while both stages are powered by Raptor engines that burn liquid oxygen and liquid methane propellants in a full-flow staged combustion power cycle. The first and second rocket stages are designed to be reused by landing vertically at the launch pad.
