Inventor Shane Wighton is finally back at it again, and this time, he has built a chainsaw-equipped robotic arm. The original plan was to use the robotic arm and carve up a block of wood into a bear shape, but that didn’t quite work out. So, the alternative plan switched to a pole chainsaw and carve up pieces of foam board.
This isn’t something anyone can try at home, as the Tormach robotic arm alone costs nearly $20,000 USD. Plus, you would need program the arm yourself using custom code and that doesn’t even count the kill switches as well as emergency light that Wighton had to install. To carve intricate marble sculptures, you’ll want the ROBOTOR robot, which is just as precise as a real human artist.
