Super Nintendo World is officially set to open on February 17, 2023 at Universal Studios Hollywood in Southern California. Guests will enter the newly expanded section of the theme park through an iconic Warp Pipe, where they’ll find ‘Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge’, one of the most interactive rides ever that fuses augmented reality with projection mapping technology.
Just like its Universal Studios Japan counterpart, guests can also participate in the Key Challenges using a Power-Up Band and collect keys from Goomba, Koopa Troopa, Piranha Plant as well as Thwomp interactive activities before battling Bowser Jr. You’ll be able to track the digital coins collected earned by tapping coin blocks using the free app. Other experiences include Toadstool Cafe and the 1-UP Factory merchandise store.
