Both Tesla Model S and Model X vehicles can now be purchased in Ultra Red, which is a $3,000 USD option. Compared to the Multi-Coat Red, the Ultra Red does appear to be slightly darker, but we’ll need to wait until more roll off the production line to make that judgement. Plus, a round steering wheel is now an option instead of the yoke.
One other slight upgrade is a “high-visibility glass roof” on the Tesla Model S, while an unmentioned feature is the Hardware 4.0 (HW4) update being offered on both new vehicles. Those opting for the Plaid versions will be happy to know that the brakes now feature redesigned pads with a higher thermal capability as well as sporting red calipers for a sharper aesthetic.
