Tesla-Powered
At first glance, this looks like a normal Volkswagen Beetle, but open the boot, and you’ll find a Tesla Model S-sourced electric powertrain generating 450 hp and 498 lb-ft (675 Nm) of torque. This 2,315-pound restomod may not have the power of a Porsche 911 GT3 RS with its 4.0L flat six engine making 520 hp and 345 lb-ft of torque, but the latter is considerably heavier at 3,152-pounds.

On paper, many would choose the Porsche GT3 RS to win, or at least in the quarter mile, but you can’t forget that the Beetle’s electric powertrain provides it with instant torque off the line as well as the luxury of not having to shift gears. Now if the race lasted longer than a quarter mile, we all know the winner since the GT3 RS has a top speed of 199 mph, compared to the 139 mph of the Model S.
