You could either spend $120K on the Red Bull RB18 racing simulator, or $12,500+ on this The Italian Job-themed Mini Cooper S rig. Put simply, a former automotive engineer took a 1974 Mini Cooper S shell, stripped out all of the ancillary components except for the steering mechanism as well as instrument cluster, and then repainted the shell in Island Blue.
The driver’s seat was then converted to a full 2° of freedom motion system to simulate the g-force experienced when accelerating, braking, road surface and gear changes, while a custom 4-speed + reverse gearshift mechanism was also added. Both the actual engine and gearbox had to be removed for the high-end gaming PC. A BenQ 4K short-throw projector, decorated with framed photographs of ‘Italian Job’ movie stills, ensures an authentic racing experience. More information here.
