Steve Areen’s otherworldly Thailand dome home was built in just six weeks on the modest budget of $9,000. He decided to build a dream home while visiting friend Hajjar Gibran, who offered him a spot on their mango farm to build his own dome. Believe it or not, the cost for the basic structure was under $6,000, but including finishing details and furniture, the total cost came out to $9,000. While this home was built with cement blocks and clay bricks, Areen says he’s looking at property in Oregon to build another dome home, but this time, with more sustainable earthen bricks.
