Shopping malls just aren’t what they used to be, due to online super stores like Amazon, but even beauty can be found in abandoned structures such as the one above. Photographer Seph Lawless recently revisited one of the malls – Rolling Acres Mall in Akron, Ohio – he shot for his previous photo series, titled “Black Friday”, and discovered that it had become a winter wonderland. The broken ceiling and skylights allowed snow to just pour in. Continue reading for more pictures.
Lawless says: “It was eerily quiet and beautiful as if the world had ended. The snow began to fall through the broken skylights and as I looked up snow flakes gently fell upon my face. It was then I realized I was inside a gigantic make believe snow globe. I prefer absurdity over reason, because it’s more honest.”
