TikTok Jake McCluskey Backyard Roller Coaster
Jake McCluskey has aspired to become a roller coaster engineer since the age of five, and to pursue his dreams, he built one in the backyard of his Northern Virginia home, complete with its own drop. As you can imagine, a roller coaster takes up a lot of space, as this one manages to occupy his entire 24 feet by 15 feet backyard and loops all the way around the garden. Eventually, Jake hopes to become a mechanical engineer.

Lumber prices have not been cheap to say the least, so Jake had to source leftover wood from construction sites, screws, PVC pipe and skateboard wheels,” to get this roller coaster project off the ground. He’s also made so many to stops to Home Depot that it became his second home. The finished ride actually pulls you to the top of the drop via a cable lift, and then a lever releases the cart.
