John and Sharon’s custom-built treehouse cabin may look nice, but it wasn’t smooth sailing getting to this point. The couple had to deal with a bankruptcy, where they lost everything with the exception of a bit of forested land which sat on a steep section on a mountain side.
This piece of land, declared worthless by the bank, was where they turned their life around, literally. They lived in a caravan while building a small home, and once the first one was complete, they moved in before building another tiny dwelling. Eventually, they had three tiny homes being rented out, giving them the capital to construct the masterpiece you see here, complete with a solar panel system to power all of the electronics.
- Features a landscape base, tree with interchangeable sets of green (summer) and yellow and brown (fall) leaves, and a Tree House with 3 cabins
- Main bedroom cabin features a buildable bed, scissors, ship in a bottle, compass, clock plus a balcony with a hand-operated, wind-up crane
- Kids’ room features bunk beds and assorted elements such as a book and treasure map, bathroom features a buildable bathtub, toilet and sink

This clever construction is an architectural marvel, elevated with the most awe-inspiring views that carry the eye across the valley and out towards the tremendous mountain ranges in the distance. This one-of-a-kind cabin stands not only as a brilliant bit of engineering and construction, but also as a monument to human perseverance and power of will,” said Living Big in a Tiny House.
