This may not be comparable to the Lotus Espirit submarine car that James Bond used in The Spy Who Loved Me, but the U-Boat Worx Super Sub is most certainly far safer and something you can actually buy. The Dutch company touts it as the most hydrodynamic personal submarine on the market, thanks in part to an innovative Lithium-ion battery-powered propulsion system driven by four powerful thrusters that deliver a total of 60 kW. This means the submersible can easily make steep 30° climbs and dives.
In addition to being one of the smoothest and most exhilarating underwater experiences, the Super Sub is capable of diving to depths of 984-feet (30-meters), all while maintaining an almost 360° view for passengers to enjoy. The droplet-shaped design ensures that it’s able to cut through water, dive with a school of dolphins, or even cruise alongside a herd of sharks. Step inside, and you’ll find that the amenities resemble that of a supercar, while a five-point belt buckle system ensures safety and an ultra-clear acrylic hull provides unobstructed views in every direction. No pricing was mentioned, although the company did state that the Super Sup model has sold out, with first deliveries beginning in 2023.

Following the successful introduction of last year’s NEMO, and with the launch of Super Sub, U-Boat Worx is setting a new bar for the high-end luxury, adventurer underwater exploration market,” said the company.
