British soldiers have successfully tested their drone-killing Radio Frequency Directed Energy Weapon (RFDEW) for the first time, and it can take down an entire swarm for the cost of a nice meal at a restaurant. Put simply, it utilizes high frequency waves to disrupt or damage critical electronic components inside devices like drones.
Thanks to its high-level of automation, the RFEW system can be operated by a single person and could be mounted onto a military vehicle, such as a MAN SV, to provide extreme mobility. This test marks a significant milestone for the UK in developing a precise, powerful, and cost-effective means to defeat multiple aerial threats.
