US Marines Weaponized Robot Dog AI Rifle
The United States Marine Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) is currently testing a weaponized robot dog made by defense company Onyx Industries, equipped with an AI-powered rifle. This news isn’t too surprising considering that MARSOC is also testing Ghost Robotics’ quadrupedal unmanned ground vehicles.

As for the rifle, it’s based on the Onyx SENTRY remote weapon system (RWS), which boasts an AI-enabled digital imaging system. The latter is designed to automatically detect and track humans, drones, or vehicles. This data is then transmitted to a remote human operator that could switch the robot dog to manual control if necessary to carry out tasks. There’s no word yet on when or if we’ll see these on the battlefield.
