Volkswagen’s California is nice, but it just doesn’t have the off-road features of the VANYX Smart Adventure, based on the MAN TGE 180 4×4 van. Power comes from a 2.0-l BiTurbo diesel engine making 250 hp, or just enough to get you across various terrain without any issue, when complemented by its automatically leveling full-air suspension.
What might surprise you is that despite measuring just 236-inches long, the VANYX can fit two double beds inside the cabin, one up front and one at the rear on the second level. There’s also a front dining area, an L-shaped kitchenette sporting an induction cooktop as well as a 90L compressor refrigerator, and rear spa bathroom, complete with a stone-walled shower. Everything is connected to a 1,200-Ah lithium battery bank that draws charge from the sun via an 800-W solar array. Plus, it can be configured with LTE and satellite internet hardware, including Starlink. How much does all this cost? Well, the ‘Luxury Edition’ will set you back a cool $970,000 USD, or there’s also a base model available for around $375,000.
