Wing Drone Delivery Service
Wing, an Alphabet subsidiary, has launched the first commercial drone delivery service in the US. The company is now delivering snacks and health care products to residents of Christiansburg, Virginia, after receiving approval from the government. To make the process go smoothly, they teamed up with major partners such as Federal Express and Walgreens. It’s so easy to use that all it takes is a few taps on smartphones to select items for delivery. Read more for a video and additional information.

In the video above, a worker places the ordered items into a cardboard box before attaching it to a yellow clip hanging in the air. That clip is then retracted towards the hovering drone, which zips across town and deposits the order in the yards of the waiting customers. Currently, Wing promises deliveries within minutes of ordering in Christiansburg’s designated delivery zones, with absolutely no express shipping fees.
