Worlds Largest Folding Knife The Q
An inventor who goes by “The Q” online reveals his latest project, a massive folding knife that actually works and could even be the world’s largest. Measuring over 47-inches (120-centimeters) in length, it works just like its far more compact counterpart, minus the extra tools and gizmos you’d find in a Swiss Army Knife. Want to make your own? The Q goes over the entire process to show just how the knife came to be.

Since there are no other bells or whistles besides its size, did you know that the Modell 1890 is the very first Swiss Army Knife? It was released in 1891 and the knife featured a blade, reamer, can opener, screwdriver, as well as grips made from dark oak wood. Despite being one of the first multi-use pocket knives, it almost bankrupt its manufacturer, that is until a new knife was patented on June 12, 1897. This new design more resembles the Swiss Army Knife that you see today, with tools attached on both sides of the handle using a special spring mechanism. Think of the Menzi Muck Generation X as the Swiss Army Knife of spider excavators.
